The Seiko 5 Recraft Automatic 43mm SNKN55J1 is a bold, modern, and highly versatile sports-casual timepiece meticulously made in Japan for men who appreciate traditional mechanical watchmaking with a commanding wrist presence. As an upscale, larger-profile entry in the legendary Seiko 5 lineup, this model delivers incredible everyday reliability, combining long-term structural durability with a striking monochromatic finish that functions perfectly as an executive work accessory or a rugged weekend dress piece. The defining visual characteristic of the SNKN55J1 is its oversized, high-contrast palette. It features a beautifully contoured, highly polished 43mm marine-grade stainless steel case highlighted by a fixed, wide stainless steel bezel. Positioned cleanly at the 3 o'clock marker is an accessible crown, moving away from the smaller recessed styles to matching its larger tool-watch architecture. The deep matte black analog dial serves as a clean canvas, beautifully decorated with prominent luminous silver-tone hands, matching applied index hour markers, and an integrated seconds track that delivers excellent legibility under any lighting conditions. Beneath its sporty, bold exterior, this watch is powered by Seiko’s proven, in-house Japanese automatic movement (Caliber 7S26). Driven purely by the natural kinetic motion of the wearer's arm, this 21-jewel self-winding mechanism completely eliminates the need for electronic batteries while maintaining an approximate 41-hour power reserve when fully wound. Turning the watch over reveals a transparent, screw-down exhibition caseback, allowing enthusiasts to admire the intricate mechanical gears, mainspring, and weighted rotor in full motion. Built to handle the elements of a busy modern lifestyle, the dial face is shielded by a proprietary, scratch-resistant Hardlex crystal window that offers superior protection against impact and routine abrasions. The internal movement is safely sealed against moisture up to 50 meters (5 bar), keeping the engine fully secure against daily handwashing splashes, unexpected downpours, heavy rain, and light swimming. Completed on a matching brushed and polished stainless steel link bracelet, it is equipped with a secure deployment clasp with dual push-button release to provide an exceptionally comfortable, stately presence on the wrist.

This is a "Go-To" for thinking about Cloud Challenges.
Format: Paperback
Delivering and managing fully realized applications in the cloud is different. Different approaches to classic engineering problems than traditional On Premise development and different ways of thinking through the problems of "always available" solutions. I've been in the software delivery business a long time, and with the cloud emerging, for good and ill: I understand the problems, but may be just a little set in my ways. I find this book helps me re-frame challenges in a way that aligns with the strengths of cloud computing. Solve the same problems faster, by thinking about them differently. I'm finding "97 Things Every Cloud Engineer Should Know" great for re-centering my expectations about Cloud Native development and deployment of assets. I started reading it cover to cover over the Christmas Holiday but now i just pick it up and look for the group of essays about exactly the problem I'm wrestling with. P.S. I'm heartened by the editors commitment to Black Lives Matter and Rule of Law. Mentioned only to balance the concerns from another review.

Why Politics in a Tech Book????
Format: Kindle
Well... I'm surprised to see the book blatently calls out its dedication to Black Lives Matter, which is in all caps so I assume it's referring to the political organization. It goes on to speak of 2020 being the year of an "awakening of injustices of systematic racism"... I thought I was buying a technical book??? Had I known this political bs was included I wouldn't have purchased it! However, I bought and I'm still reading it. If the politics goes away and the TECHNICAL content is good I'll update my review.

Not good use of time
Format: Paperback
It’s not clear who this book targets - neither experts nor novice will benefit. There are expert perspectives, only few of these are helpful, rest are too generic to be of any use. For instance the last entry is one an engineer who shares how she went from zero to expert in cloud engineering in six months but fails to mention a single resource or pathway for others to follow.
