2019 Canadian maple leaf- A First-Ever Pairing of U.S. & Canadian Silver Coins

The United States of America and Canada share a 5,525-mile-long border as well as close economic ties and cultural similarities. And now they also share a two-piece set of coins made up of each nation’s most popular annual silver releases. This epic collaboration between the U.S. Mint and the Royal Canadian Mint is not only the first time in history these two titans of the coin world have joined forces, but it also represents a first for both the American Silver Eagle and the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf. That’s because this set features for the first time ever an American Silver Eagle with a “W” mint mark and an Enhanced Proof finish, and a first-ever Canadian Silver Maple Leaf with a Modified Proof finish!

Each 2019-dated release is a legal-tender coin – the $1 American Silver Eagle was struck at the West Point Mint in a full ounce of 99.9% fine silver while the $5 Maple Leaf was struck at the Royal Canadian Mint in a full ounce of highly pure 99.99% silver. The familiar designs are relatively unchanged, but the finishes are entirely new and unique in what is being called the “Pride of Two Nations” two-piece set:

  • The 2019 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf features a “Modified Proof” finish – a unique, first-ever finish that includes a flourish of hundreds of miniature maple leaves and stars around the coin’s rim encircling both the Maple Leaf design and the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. A further added touch is a series of rays extending in the background that dazzle the eyes an accentuate the images.

Relations between Canada and the United States were not always so close. During the American Revolution, British loyalists fled to Canada and formed a vocal anti-American element. The War of 1812 saw cross-border invasions and fierce battles over the Great Lakes. Following the close of the Civil War, many Canadians feared an American takeover when Canada became a self-governing dominion in 1867. Despite these antagonistic baby steps, it can be argued today that no two countries have better relations than Canada and the United States. Besides sharing the world’s longest border, the two nations are inexorably linked in foreign policy, defense, and a shared culture. In fact, in a recent Gallup poll, 96% of Americans surveyed voted Canada as their favorite foreign nation.

Just 110,000 of each coin has been struck with 10,000 two-piece collections set aside for the Royal Canadian Mint and the U.S. Mint releasing the remaining 100,000 two-piece sets! Now you can secure the United States limited release set complete with a display box from the U.S. Mint. You must act fast, however, because collectors love first-ever releases with low edition limits. Reserve your special U.S. Mint pedigreed set now!

  • FIRST-EVER COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE U.S. AND CANADIAN MINTS – This U.S. and Royal Canadian Mint set is part of the U.S. Mint’s initiative to issue innovative numismatic products for collectors in conjunction with other world mints. It’s the first-ever collaboration between these two prestigious world mints.
  • STRUCK IN HIGHLY PURE SILVER – These coins are struck in highly pure silver with the Silver Eagle being minted in a full ounce of 99.9% silver and the Maple Leaf in an ounce of 99.99% silver.
  • LEGAL-TENDER COINS – Each coin is legal tender; the Silver Eagle bears a $1 denomination in the United States while the Maple Leaf comes with a Canadian $5 denomination.
  • FIRST-EVER PROOF FINISHES – Your set features for the first time ever an American Silver Eagle with a “W” mint mark and an Enhanced Proof finish, and a first-ever Canadian Silver Maple Leaf with a Modified Proof finish. In addition, each comes in Gem Proof condition
  • VERY LOW LIMITED EDITION – The 2019 United States & Canada Pride of Two Nations Two-Coin Set is limited to just 100,000 sets released with U.S. Mint-branded packaging.

Samples great, purchased product not
Style: Restorative Protective Cream-1.3 Fl Oz
My dermatologist recommended this cream after a laser procedure, and gave me some samples to take home. I found the thick, smooth cream calming and protective for my irritated skin. The zinc oxide leaves a whitish cast at first, which does tend to fade after it sinks in, but it could be problem if you have darker skin. Not an issue for me since I’m pale. Because I liked the samples, I ordered two full-size tubes. Both arrived with the product inside completely separated. The texture was nothing like the samples. I opened the first tube and clear, watery liquid spilled everywhere. I quickly recapped it, shook and squeezed the tube as much as possible to try to re-emulsify the product, and it remained stubbornly separated, with chunky white paste suspended in thin liquid. I’ve thoroughly shaken the second tube and continue to hear the sloshing of thin liquid. So apparently once the cream has separated, it will not re-mix. I don’t know what caused the unacceptable condition of the product—manufacturing variation, storage conditions prior to shipping, or conditions during shipment. Whatever it was, I would not buy this product in this way again. The samples were a five star product. The full size product I received was zero stars.

Helped calm my damaged skin barrier, but expect stinging on very raw skin
Style: Restorative Protective Cream-1.3 Fl Oz
I bought this because I severely damaged my skin barrier and needed something gentle that would help my skin calm down and heal. My skin was extremely sensitive, raw, irritated, tight, and honestly uncomfortable even with water touching it. This did help, but I do want to mention that if your skin is VERY damaged or raw, there can be some stinging at first. I experienced that myself during the first few applications. The stinging didn’t last long for me, but I think it’s important to mention because people with damaged barriers are usually desperate for relief and can panic when products sting. What ended up helping me most was using this as part of a simple barrier repair routine instead of using it alone. What I personally did: * Wet my face first with either water or Avène Thermal Spring Water so my skin was damp but not soaking wet * Applied the Avène Cicalfate onto the damp skin * At night, I sealed everything in with CeraVe Healing Ointment (Aquaphor would probably work too) I repeated this every night before bed and sometimes during the day if I was staying home. If I was leaving the house during the day, I would do the same steps but use sunscreen instead of sealing with ointment. I honestly think sunscreen is extremely important when your skin barrier is damaged and trying to heal because irritated skin feels even more sensitive when exposed to sunlight. I used this day and night, very easy to use, and didn’t experience breakouts from it. The texture is thick but comforting once applied, especially when your skin feels dry and stripped. Overall, I would buy this again. I don’t think it’s some overnight miracle product, but it genuinely helped my skin calm down and recover when my barrier was damaged. I personally didn’t notice any strong fragrance, which I appreciated since my skin was already extremely irritated. I also like how versatile this product is. Even though I originally bought it for barrier damage, I can see why people use it for irritation from retinol, over-exfoliating, dry patches, or skin that just feels compromised in general.

Holy Grail of Moisturizers
Style: Restorative Protective Cream-3.3 Fl Oz
I bought this after hearing a dermatologist on Instagram rave about this cream and now I see why. As someone who suffers from pretty severe eczema this is my go to holy grail for flair ups. Perfect for sensitive skin and can be used daily. It is very thick so provides a thick layer of moisture on your skin. I will say I have bought 2 sizes in this and the smaller size (1.3fl oz) did separate and had a liquid part that would come out. I have bought numerous tubes of the larger size (3.3fl oz) and never had an issue with separation with the larger size. I’m learning as I get older that more expensive does not mean better quality skincare. This is one that is not only affordable, but will also give you noticeable results. I have everyone in my whole family using this product!

Soothing Post-Laser!! Ideal for Aging Skin ~
I just had my first CO2 Laser treatment and once you get past the required use of occlusives (Aquaphor, Doctor Rogers Healing Balm, Vaseline etc.), I was searching for something lighter that allowed my skin to breath yet soothed the dry, itching discomfort. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Gel was the answer! After laser treatment, you can experience discomfort for up to 10 days. This gel is super lightweight, spreads easily and is not greasy. A small amount easily covered my face and neck. I like the fact that it is fragrance free - I experienced zero irritation. I found the product extremely soothing and really sped up my recovery with dryness and itchiness. This product was more effective than the lotion I was given my the laser specialist! I already use La Roche-Posay facial cleanser and love it. I am adding this product to my skin care regimen even after my laser recovery is complete. Ideal if you are looking for an effective moisturizer that is lightweight and really works on dry/irritated skin.
