De MICROSHIFT ADVENT MX CS-XD11611V-cassette is de lichtste en meest geavanceerde 11-versnellingscassette uit het microSHIFT-assortiment. Deze cassette is speciaal ontworpen voor mountainbiken en gravelrijden op hoog niveau en biedt een indrukwekkend versnellingsbereik van 11-50 tanden (ofwel 454 %), terwijl het gewicht zeer concurrerend blijft.

De kracht zit hem in de hybride constructie: de eerste 10 tandwielen zijn van staal om soepel en duurzaam schakelen te garanderen, terwijl het tandwiel met 50 tanden uit aluminium is gefreesd. Deze technische keuze zorgt voor een drastische vermindering van de roterende massa aan de achterkant van je fiets, waardoor de respons bij het optrekken en de algehele wendbaarheid van de fiets worden verbeterd.

Wat is het verschil met de CS-EG116-versie (Sword)? Hoewel ze dezelfde technologie delen (50T-tandwiel van aluminium), is de CS-XD116 geoptimaliseerd voor mountainbikes (ADVENT X-serie), terwijl de CS-EG116 is bestemd voor de Sword-serie (Gravel). De tandverdelingen zijn identiek, maar de uiterlijke afwerking kan enigszins variëren om bij de respectievelijke groepen te passen.

Slijt het aluminium tandwiel sneller? Aluminium is zachter dan staal. Als u 100% van de tijd op het tandwiel met 50 tanden rijdt, zal het sneller slijten dan een volledig stalen versie (zoals de CS-H114). Voor normaal gebruik, waarbij het 50T-tandwiel dient als „reserve-tandwiel“ voor steile hellingen, is dit echter het ideale compromis.

Waarom zou je deze versie verkiezen boven de ‘volledig stalen’ versie? Vanwege de responsiviteit. Bij een achterwiel merk je het verschil van 150 g onmiddellijk bij het accelereren. Als je op zoek bent naar een dynamische en levendige fiets, is de XD116 de beste keuze.
